I took a considerable risk in my early career by moving from being a production manager in a brewery to work in foreign exchange operations at Citibank.
Getting involved
Banking is dynamic - it drives business and change. I'd recommend getting involved from day one. Roll your sleeves up and be part of the team, as decisions are driven by consensus. Network within your organisation. Plan short-term goals and be passionate and decisive.
Trends
I think there's going to be an increase in the need for banks to be able to provide cross-product solutions to their clients.
