Like many bankers, I fell into the career through a combination of events: I knew somebody working at a bank and this prompted me to do summer work in the area, which I enjoyed. I have been most influenced by my enjoyment of the work itself – and of the people I’ve worked with.
Before you commit to a position, it’s important to make sure that you feel you will fit in and like the people. The biggest factor in your enjoyment of a role is the culture and working environment: it will have an enormous effect. Try an internship to find out whether it is a lifestyle that you will enjoy.
