Designed as a new concept for community libraries the buildings have changed the general perception of a quiet, dusty library into one of vibrancy and open access to a wide range of modern learning methods. Apart from the obvious social benefits of the project, the engineering design was challenging and enjoyable. I was privileged to work with an enlightened design team and client as this enabled us to include appropriate low energy systems on what is an extremely visual and striking building.
