Changing roles frequently within a company gave me a good breadth of experience, which has been invaluable in later years. I have personally worked in aerospace, shipbuilding and off-shore sectors as well as telecommunications and I have worked in a variety of functions, including customer support, human resources, engineering and IT.

Taking a technology path to the top

Develop a sound technology foundation – this is critically important. However, also look for opportunities to grow your business knowledge and experience as you progress. To reach the top you must have well rounded experience and skills. Working for good leaders who can develop you and progress your career is also very important.
