FIRM Biggart Baillie LLP
CURRENT SEAT Property
UNIVERSITY Glasgow, law (2004)
I was initially attracted by the firm’s structured and varied training programme but I principally accepted the offer because I felt the firm was somewhere I would fit in.
The work is varied and demanding, and involves both assisting experienced colleagues inmajormatters and handling my own transactions. The hours are not always nine to five but trainees are not expected to do long hours as standard and there is plenty of time for a good social life too. As I’ve progressed I’ve been given more responsibility and been introduced to a wider range of work for different sorts of clients. In a single day I can be involved in drafting, carrying out legal research, taking instructions fromor advising clients on the telephone and attending client meetings.
