Management consultants are involved with an array of tasks. With each assignment there will be different duties, though you may find yourself involved in similar processes. Most firms like graduate consultants to get hands-on as early as possible, so be prepared for a steep learning curve. After your induction and basic training, you’re likely to do a lot of computer work, such as research, data analysis and information collection. This will progress to financial analysis and economic modelling. As a graduate starting out you’ll probably spend a lot of time gathering information at client sites, whether interviewing employees or observing processes.
