My most memorable surveying project

My most memorable project wasa development called Eco Park in London – it was one of the first environmentally friendly projects. I managed the project commercially from an early cost plan stage to the handover point. We had to investigate and procure packages for unusual products such as solar panels and grey water recycling to reuse bath water. Every detail had to be considered, even down to the adhesive for the flooring, which had to be made of sustainable or recycled products.

What makes a career in the built environment sector great?

The construction industry is always changing; every day is unpredictable. You are never with the same team for more than a year or so, the work is in various locations, and at the end of each project you have constructed a building that others will enjoy for years to come.
