Ashurst is a full-service, Silver Circle, City law firm with almost 200 years tradition. It employs 1700 lawyers and has 400 equity partners spread across 24 offices in 14 countries, as well as an associated office in Jakarta, and a best-friend referral relationship with an Indian law firm.

Its core business is M&A, finance and corporate and it has a reputation for cross-border transactions, which generates complex but interesting work. Clients include: BT, Siemens, HMV, Thomson Reuters, Centrica, Virgin Media, RBS, Credit Suisse.

The Legal 500 rates Ashurst in the first tier within private finance initiative (PFI) and construction. Many of the firm’s other practice areas are in the second tier, including: equity capital markets, flotations, private equity, banking litigation; commercial litigation, acquisition finance, derivatives and structured products, investment funds, securitisation, insurance, product liability, infrastructure, commercial property, and transport.
