Job Description

We are looking for graduates with business related degrees who will join our 2-year graduate training scheme leading to an appropriate professional qualification. You will ultimately join one our key account areas, Power Generation, MOD and International or Decommissioning in a business management role.

The job could be based in Bristol, Leicester or Manchester but you can expect four or more long secondments at any of these offices and to our Nuclear Industry clients at their sites around the country during your two year training period. At the end of the two years you will have a good understanding of our business processes and the nuclear industry. This will put you in a good position to influence the future course of your career.

Please note the job starts on 3rd September 2012.

Responsibilities

During your training period, your duties will include some or all of the following:

  • Contributing to bids and tenders
  • Business support for framework agreements
  • Ensuring all contract requirements are satisfied and project deadlines are met
  • Management of supply contracts and sub-contracts
  • Managing and controlling projects
  • Project performance monitoring
  • Project administration and support

Qualifications & Requirements

Degree

First or upper second class honours Degree in business, law, procurement or other relevant discipline. An equivalent professional qualification may also be acceptable.

Skills

  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to draw sound conclusions from numerical data
  • Good relationship building, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working on own initiative to satisfy demanding deadlines
  • Word and Excel literate

Other

You will need to be a self-motivated individual, with a proactive and investigative approach to tasks and be capable of enhancing the image, capability and reputation of Babcock by your confident and professional approach.

Security

Graduates undertaking their training with Babcock's Nuclear business will be expected to work on nuclear sites and be capable of obtaining and maintaining the required security clearance. Job offers will be subject to successful conclusion of the vetting process
