Job Description

We are looking for Electrical, Control and / or Instrumentation Engineering graduates within our Nuclear Operations based at Babcock’s Nuclear offices in Bristol to work on a wide variety of projects in the UK and internationally. Initially you will embark on a professional development programme, accredited by the IET and leading to chartered status. During the initial two-year period graduates will experience a wide range of engineering and commercial activities.

You will learn to use modern design techniques, applying EC&I engineering within the challenges of a nuclear environment for the full project life-cycle, and the installation of equipment at our customer sites throughout the UK. All graduates will be expected to spend some time both at our offices and at customer sites. In addition, graduates will take part in training and development activities designed to build technical, management and interpersonal career skills.

Please note that the start date for this position will be 3rd September 2012.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 2.1 MEng (Hons) Degree in an appropriate electrical / electronic discipline as a minimum - Note other grades or similar degrees may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • As our training programme is accredited by the IET and provides the initial training experience requirements for chartered status we prefer graduates to have degrees that are accredited by the IET.
  • Graduates must have good interpersonal qualities and management potential.
  • A full, and clean, driving licence is required.

Security

Graduates undertaking their training with Babcock's Nuclear business will be expected to work on nuclear sites and be capable of obtaining and maintaining the required security clearance. Job offers will be subject to successful conclusion of the vetting process.
