We offer one of the most generously funded, best structured and most enjoyable pupillages at the Bar. Training with each of the three pupil supervisors is backed up by classroom sessions on drafting skills and practical advocacy exercises. Our pupils spend a high proportion of their time ‘on their feet’ in court during the second six months. Reviews at the end of each seat help us to resolve any difficulties at an early stage.
We do not operate a quota system when making tenancy decisions. It is our aim to take on all of our pupils who are good enough to be tenants. We have an excellent track
record of taking on our pupils.
Award for 2013 is £60,000 (including £22,500 advance in BPTC year and a guarantee of earnings during the second six months of £15,000).
Academically, graduates will need at least a good 2.1 degree to be considered. However, we also look for applicants who work well in teams and have the ability to get on with solicitors, clients and other members of chambers.
We welcome mini-pupils. Generally applicants will only be considered after their first year of a law degree or during CPE. Minipupillages last from two days to a week. We aim to expose you to a wide range of work during your time with us. We also offer help with reasonable expenses up to £50.
Mini-pupillages are usually unfunded but a few funded mini-pupillages. Please see our website for further details.
