Business Group Overview
The Information Technology Group (ITG) is the internal IT function of Hitachi Europe (HEU). It delivers business IT services to Hitachi Europe Ltd and Hitachi Group companies in Europe. ITG helps its customers make better use of their existing IT capability and to work together to make the best possible investment in future IT solutions. As well as governing Hitachi Europe Ltd’s IT environment, it is able to provide advice and guidance for other Hitachi companies in Europe.
ITG’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Team manages and supports a wide range of EDI services that form a key link in the supply chain of Hitachi Europe’s Businesses. The high quality and cost effectiveness of these services has seen an uptake in Hitachi Group Companies in Europe choosing to outsource their EDI operations to Hitachi Europe’s IT Group.
Overview of Role
In response to this increased demand we are looking to grow our EDI team through the permanent recruitment of a computer science graduate to work alongside the existing EDI team.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a small, highly motivated team and to develop skills in business process & application integration. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to further enhance the reputation of this specialist IT service, in return Hitachi can offer:

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
The Graduate EDI Developer will:
- Develop and enhance EDI processes for new business requirements.
- Support existing EDI processes and troubleshoot issues.
- Monitor EDI Application Software and SAP integration.
- Liaise with internal customers, external trading partners and software providers
- Skills & Experience
Essential Skills Required
- Some professional industry/work experience within an IT Service provider is essential
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Some hands on experience of programming (any language)
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to ERP Systems and Business Process design
- Exposure to Unix O/S and MySQL Database
- A second spoken language (European)
Qualifications
You will have recently achieved a Computer Science/IT degree (minimum 2:1 pass).

This role would suit a technically minded individual, who is focused and accurate, with exceptional attention to detail and who has had hands on experience of IT Service provision in a team environment.
