Actuarial Analyst: graduate job

To produce the calculations and reporting required for recent business deals such as longevity swap and longevity reinsurance deals. To assist in performing due diligence on prospective new deals. To carry out the above in a manner that supports the Company’s focus and culture.

Principal Job Objectives:

To assist in development and to carry out the administration of reinsurance deals involving the transfer of longevity risk. This administration to include:
Data Checking and reconciliations
Extract production
Process Development
Model Development
Documentation of Systems and Processes
To assist in the preparation of Statutory and Corporate Valuation of reinsurance deals involving the transfer of longevity risk where appropriate.
Assist the reinsurance Actuary were requested on other projects including performing due diligence on prospective new deals
Develop work experience and study for and pass examinations of the Institute of Actuaries Examinations at a rate to maintain positive balance of time and funds in the Student Support package.

Knowledge/Experience Required at Recruitment:

Desirable to be a Graduate in Maths (or similar)
To be studying for Actuarial Exams
To Have a Good Level of Computer Literacy
Good Excel Skills
The ability to work accurately, paying attention to detail and producing a detailed audit trail
The ability to use their own initiative and work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Good communication skills, time management and organisational skills

Additional Knowledge Required to Become Fully Competent:

Good knowledge of PROPHET and MOSES system parameterisation and functionality.
Understanding of life assurance cashflows and the effects of assumption changes on those cashflows.
Basic knowledge of FSA summary forms and rules for compilation.
Basic understanding of the principles and methods applied in statutory reserving.
Good Alpha, DDE & SQL Skills
Detailed knowledge of Windsor life products and practices
Advanced Excel skills
Advanced Access skills
