This Client is a leading Engineering, Environmental and Management Company with 300 staff throughout the UK.
They have a number of graduate positions in minerals and environmental disciplines based in the Northeast.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who want more than just an office job! You will be interested in the natural environment and the extractive industries.
A first degree in a relevant subject such as geology or geography is preferred, although candidates with other degrees will be considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The nature of the work involves travel throughout the UK and a full driving license will be required within a few months of commencing employment.
The vacancies are in the mineral estates team which manages an extensive portfolio of mineral/ waste operations and provides professional and technical advice to the minerals and waste industry.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the feasibility of mineral deposits and waste management projects;
- Investigating mineral ownership and working rights;
- Negotiating contracts to sell or lease mineral deposits and waste management sites;
- Inspecting quarries and other operations;
- Valuing mineral and waste management resources;
- Mineral and waste planning work.
They operate a Graduate Training Scheme and there are excellent training and career development prospects associated with these posts.
Successful applicants will be encouraged to become Chartered Mineral Surveyors and this will involve additional academic and professional training that will be funded by the employer.
