Senior Risk Analyst
Our client provides credit and store card facilities for a variety of large retail clients. They have an immediate vacancy for a Senior Risk Analyst to work from their offices based in Solihull, West Midlands.
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Risk manager to take responsibility for optimising profitability for the companies portfolio by providing information, analysis and technical support for the development and implementation of Risk strategies, which improve portfolio performance.
To supervise risk analysts as requested, taking responsibility for the work that they undertake. They provide credit facilities for a variety of retail clients. This challenging role helps in the development of risk strategies, policies and procedures, which optimise the conflicting objectives of maximising accept rates and revenue whilst controlling delinquency, fraud and bad debt.
Responsibilities would include:-
• Develop and recommend risk policy within New account
processing or Account Management.
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of scorecards used.
• Develop, recommend and monitor risk strategies which maximise revenue whilst minimising bad debt.
• Develop, recommend and monitor credit limit and cash strategies. • Provide portfolio management reports which evaluate the risk profile of the CFS Customer base.
• Provide analysis to improve the impact of strategies set.
• Provide MIS which is used to update senior management on the risk status of the CFS portfolio.
• As requested, liaise with other departments or external organisations e.g. Credit Bureau on any current or future initiatives.
• Help support the Commercial Development team in their relationship with retail clients
• Liaise with Certegy, as requested to ensure that policies and procedures are being complied with in an efficient manner.
• Supervise risk analysts as requested, taking responsibility for the work that they undertake.
• Assist in the development of the risk analysts and help maintain a high level of motivation within the department.
• Keep abreast of new developments and regulatory issues.
This role would suit a graduate with a numerate degree with a proven experience in SAS, Excel and Word. Good experience in Consumer credit financial services as well as experience in Risk Management or a data analysis function. With excellent analytical and communication skills and an existing knowledge of credit bureau data and products. You will also need skills in the development of successful risk strategies and prior knowledge of scorecard development and monitoring.
