GIS Consultant
The GIS Consultant will be based within our small GIS and data projects team, working closely alongside data capture staff, application developers and product consultants. Work is principally project based, with projects typically lasting from a few weeks to a few months. At any one time we would expect to be active on several projects, with each project often requiring specialist input from several staff. For this reason in addition to GIS skills and experience we would value someone that has experience in project management and that is happy to lead on or contribute to the whole project life cycle management.
Candidates should enjoy a varied workload that involves good organisational skills, independent working and strong problem solving skills.

Essential:
* Knowledge and experience with at least 2 of the following: MapInfo Pro MapBasic ArcGIS ArcObjects Microsoft Access Visual Basic /VB.NET Web development/ASP.NET/Java MapInfo Pro MapBasic ArcGIS ArcObjects Microsoft Access Visual Basic /VB.NET Web development/ASP.NET/Java
* Self-organised and motivated
Desirable: Graduate / post-graduate qualifications in an environmental or IT discipline Previous experience of providing consultancy services to the public or private sector Project management / client facing skills Experience in delivering GIS training Driving license
