Research

Academic staff are organised into four main subject groups; Business and Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting and Marketing. This grouping reflects the School's research centres of expertise, which in turn informs teaching practice. Our lecturers are experts in their chosen specialty, research active and professionally recognised.

Our postgraduate portfolio has a strong international focus and is constantly updated to ensure students are provided with the latest professional research knowledge, and the best possible learning experience.

Facilities

Our Careers Service has won several prestigious awards and the Business School has a dedicated placements officer and careers advisor who offer free one to one support and advice on career planning, CV writing, interview preparation and job search strategies. Annually the University also hosts on-campus visits from over 300 employers, providing excellent career networking opportunities. 92% of Newcastle Graduates are employed or enrolled in further study 6 months after finishing their degree (Higher Education Statistics Agency, 2010).

Over the last decade Newcastle has been transformed into a vibrant and cosmopolitan city thanks to significant cultural investment and the development of world class facilities. The city enjoys excellent transport links, being well serviced by roads, rail and an international airport. London can be reached by train in less than three hours and Edinburgh in less than two.
