Welcome to Veolia Water UK, part of the world’s largest environmental services group. As the water experts, we offer our clients a wide range of sustainable solutions, helping them maximise efficiencies whilst being considerate to the environment.

As well as owning three water supply companies, we operate water, wastewater and utility contracts for clients across the UK and Ireland. For example, we’re part of the partnership delivering water and wastewater services for most Ministry of Defence sites across England, Scotland and Wales; we’re Welsh Water's billing and income partner, managing their customer services; and we’re part of the Vennsys consortium that recently won a major £300m contract to install and read all of Thames Water’s meters.

With a £392m group turnover and 2200 employees, we’ve doubled the size of our business in four years (our target was five) and we’re still growing. We want to hear from graduates with the skills to rise to our challenges, find solutions to the problems our clients need to solve and manage the projects that deliver those solutions.

Our Graduate programme is designed to provide our business with a group of talented people, who throughout their placements we will support in their development and personal growth, and by the end of the programme will have acquired an excellent understanding of our business and will be able to drive it forward in strategic, technical and innovative ways. Our graduates will represent our business and demonstrate our company values enabling us to fulfill our vision and mission .

Throughout the scheme, successful graduates will have a fantastic opportunity to experience working in both the regulated water industry as well as the commercial part of the business. The programme is comprised of 4 – 5 six monthly placements across Veolia Water UK and its different business areas. Our Company sites are marked out on the map below:

There are two paths you can chose to take as a graduate:

Business Placements:

If you undertake the Support Services scheme you will have 3 placements within support service areas of the business including:

HR/Talent, Customer Relations, Communications, Finance/Procurement/Internal Audit, Preparing Bids/Business Development activity, Scientific and Corporate Responsibility Service, IT.

And one placement from a specialist area below.

Technical Placements:

If you take the specialist route you will undertake 3 – 4 placements from the below areas and one in a support function.

Physical Asset Management – above & below ground (Capability Centre or operational), Programme management – Asset delivery, Production, Water quality, Community operations, Network maintenance, Leakage, Community Operations, Network maintenance.

On a personal level the scheme is designed to develop your skills, knowledge and experience and to prepare you for your career with Veolia Water. You will receive specific, focused development and tailored support to enable you to achieve your goals and objectives as well as to help you advance your career with the Company. There are a number of tools available to aid you with your career and the scheme also has features such as a buddy system to help you find your way around the Company as well as a dedicated mentor. It promotes networking, leadership and interpersonal competencies to develop and sustain effective working relationship at all levels of the organisation.

The skills you develop and refine during this time will help you to achieve your full potential within the company. The programme allows you to apply advanced theoretical concepts and knowledge from all areas of the business; and by solving practical problems we will enable you to take the first steps into developing into our potential leaders of the future.

Successful candidates will be ambitious, enthusiatic, determined, resilient and excellent at communicating at all levels. They will be expected to demonstrate appropriate behaviours which reflect the Company values and are engrained in their day to day activities.
