Bain offers unparalleled flexibility – Associate Consultants (ACs) have the opportunity to transfer to one of our 36 global offices, pursue an MBA, go on externship, work in our Private Equity practice or take a leave of absence.

Your professional development

Throughout your career at Bain we offer excellent graduate training. Your first year starts with two weeks of detailed training in the London office before flying to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for a further two-week global graduate training program, where you will get the chance to work alongside your international colleagues. In addition, you will be assigned a mentor to help guide you through your career as well as ongoing coaching, both informal and formal, from senior case members and peer group sessions to ensure that you continually develop your skills.

Bain is a meritocracy – there is no fixed graduate career path or length of time that a person should stay at a particular level. Your progression is driven purely by your performance, not by your tenure. Although sponsorship is available to attend the world's top business schools, there is no requirement to study for an MBA, and many people have been promoted through to Partner without one.
