Francis Taylor Building’s (FTB) reputation for excellence is long-standing and we are consistently featured in the legal directories for our expertise and leading role in planning, land valuation, infrastructure, environmental, public law, licensing and regulatory law.

As part of our specialist practice, Chambers also undertakes work connected with transport and works schemes, utilities, highways, energy, rating, ecclesiastical, heritage and conservation, common land and village greens, education, minerals, statutory nuisance and regulation, health and safety, compulsory purchase and compensation, easements and covenants, advertisements, employment and consumer law among other areas of related work.

In recent years, in addition to numerous challenges in relation to planning permission and development plans, members of chambers have been involved in cases before the High Court, Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and public inquiries.

Work in other jurisdictions has included litigation in Hong Kong, Northern Ireland, the ECJ and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Pupillage

We are looking to recruit ambitious and able pupils with a 2.1 degree or higher. We will be offering a maximum of two 12-month pupillages commencing in October 2013. Each pupillage will carry remuneration of at least £40,000.

There are 43 tenants in chambers, 18 of whom are silks and two are academic tenants. As a chambers, we place a high priority on developing our pupils’ ability as advocates and operate an internal advocacy and specialist legal training scheme.
