We have 64 members in London including 22 silks, and 40 in our Annexe in Brighton. We also have a team of 16 accredited mediators. Former and current members include Lord Woolf, four Lords Justice of Appeal, and three former Chairmen of the Bar.

Ethos

We are fully engaged in the legal community – we run the free Human Rights Update service at www.humanrights.org.uk and the new UK Human Rights Blog at www.ukhumanrightsblog.com. We support Bar Pro Bono work and the Free Representation Unit.

Pupillage

We fund two 12-month pupillages at £40,000 each. We also normally take a third-six pupil (also funded). 12-month pupillages are split into three phases. Pupils will be in court regularly in their own right in the second six months. We are looking for candidates with an excellent
record of academic achievement with a minimum 2.1 degree (save in exceptional circumstances), a commitment to succeed at the Bar and the ability to relate well to clients and colleagues. We are commited to a comprehensive equal opportunities and diversity policy.

Crown Office Row Chambers is a well established Sussex set and Annexe of 1 Crown Office Row, Temple, London. It serves a wide range of clients both locally and nationally.

Chambers has three teams (civil, criminal and family) that allow it to offer strength in both numbers and expertise.

Chambers has 40 tenants in Brighton, all providing a high quality, accessible and comprehensive service in their chosen field. Chambers is well regarded for its skills in advocacy and can offer clients the benefits of extensive conference and mediation facilities, the latest information technology, a comprehensive library facility, seminar facilities, website resources including a human rights service and blog, together with a high level of professionalism.

Pupillage

We offer up to two twelve-month pupillages at £19,000 per annum each. We often take a third-six pupil in addition. Twelve-month pupils will have two supervisors and can expect to be in court frequently in their own right during their second six months.
