HBJ Gateley Wareing are a top 60 law firm which has developed dramatically over the last 12 months. We are now practising in the city of London, having merged with shipping firm, Shaw & Croft in May 2007 and, more recently, Holmes Hardingham. We have also merged with the award-winning Glasgow practice, Boyds. Internationally, we have opened an office in Dubai. We are indeed excited about the future for HBJ Gateley Wareing.

Talented lawyers need to be given appropriate graduate training and support to ensure they reach their full potential. Legal training is only half the story. Our clients require an adviser who can help them achieve their goals so we spend a great deal of time developing 'business skills' such as commercial awareness, management and marketing. What we look for in a trainee

We are keen for our trainees to have a strong academic background, but also to involve themselves in firm-wide initiatives to further their own development. We look for graduates who have ambition and can commit 100 per cent to their work, our people and our culture. We want our trainees to shine and convince us that they have what it takes to become our partners of the future. We have to be rigorous in our selection to ensure that we get the right candidates. Applicants should have (or expect to achieve) a 2.1 degree. We also look for people who have held positions of responsibility in school, university or working life.
