What are we looking for?

We seek exceptional candidates who can demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and intellectual ability, coupled with the social skills to communicate with and on behalf of a wide range of clients. Applicants should have a strong academic background, usually evidenced by a first or upper second class degree (or at the application stage a reasonable expectation of reaching this standard).

Pupillage

Pupils are allocated to three or four pupil supervisors during the course of their 12-month pupillage, and therefore experience a broad spectrum of the work in chambers. Pupil supervisors ensure that a proper work/life balance is achieved. In their second six months of pupillage, pupils can expect to be in court approximately three times a week, dealing with their own cases. 42 Bedford Row has an excellent track record of recruiting tenants from our own pupils, giving all pupils who perform well during Pupillage a realistic chance of being offered tenancy.
