“My Career started with a graduate scheme in the Agriculture industry and has taken me through a number of businesses and roles, providing me with rich experiences and fantastic challenges. Our industry is about so much more than farming – we're all about adding value to the food supply chain of which we're an integral part. I firmly believe that few companies can match the breadth of opportunity for responsibility and commercial edge that we can offer”. David Yiend, Chief Executive, AB Agri Limited.

Our Graduate Schemes

AB Agri Ltd operates in a demanding sector with tight margins, requiring us to stay one step ahead of the competition. We lead the market and produce over 2 million tonnes of animal feed out of our 10 production sites. With over 1,000 different product types and a varied customer base, it is a complex operational environment that stretches talent.

The Supply Chain Graduate scheme with AB Agri provides a superb opportunity to not just gain sought after manufacturing technical skills but also skills in corporate management and leadership experience in a challenging environment. Our scheme lasts for up to 2 years and centres on production management (raw material control, production scheduling and people management) and operations management (customer care, strategy development, continuous improvement and performance management and budget control) – a mixture of theory and practice. You will need to apply your intellect as well as a hands-on approach. For the right candidate we hope this will be part of the attraction.

Our scheme offers an intensive yet flexible development framework with clearly defined goals. You’ll be tackling live business issues, taking on a high level of responsibility from the outset and gaining significant on-the-job experience, which will be complemented by ongoing training. You can of course expect plenty of support, including a personally assigned mentor. At the end of the day, the onus will be on you to drive your own development. This means you must be able to manoeuvre independently and that you will have some say in what you do. You will of course also have the chance to make a real impact.

At AB Agri we welcome new talent, the fresh ideas they bring and their ability to challenge the way we do things. Our training scheme is not the end of the training experience, but the first part of a career-long development process.

Our Requirements

We are seeking graduates with the skills, initiative and personality to play a role in our continuing growth and success. You will ideally have a degree in agriculture, food or business, but we recognise the value of transferable skills, and we will consider graduates from any discipline, as long as you can demonstrate a genuine desire for a commercial role. Excellent communication skills, drive and the ability to work effectively in teams will be key requirements.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to first interview, after which there will be an assessment day for successful candidates.

Your Graduate Training and Development

You can expect high quality and carefully structured graduate training, starting from your induction programme. Each graduate will be assigned a personal mentor and a senior sponsor, to support their development and progress.
