ACT qualifications are relevant to a variety of roles including treasury, accountancy, risk, financial management, banking, relationship management and consultancy. Professional qualifications develop your practical skills. You will be able to use what you learn at work the very next day. In addition, when you achieve your qualification you can use the designatory letters after your name.

ACT qualifications are delivered as distance learning programmes that combine self-study with tutor support and the option of face-to-face tuition and revision days. They are supported by a wide range of learning resources and tools, the majority of which are delivered online including course materials, practical exercises, self tests, past exam papers and tutor guided forums. Available whenever and wherever you choose to study, the flexible programmes mean you can study whilst managing your day job, irrespective of where you are in the world.

A treasurer works within a team to protect the company's financial assets and to always ensure the company has the necessary cash available to run its business. The treasury team will deal with the banking requirements, the funding for the business and manage financial risk. Treasury therefore incorporates raising and managing money, currency, commodity and interest rate risk management and dealing, and, in some organisations, the related areas of insurance, pensions, property and taxation. The size of a treasury team is dependent on an organisation's size and capabilities. Even where no dedicated role exists, someone in the organisation will almost certainly be taking on the treasury role as part of their job.
A career in treasury requires you to work in a fast-paced environment whilst dealing with dynamic global markets and to be a key contributor to your organisation’s future strategy. You will handle the relationships with shareholders, banks and other lenders and will almost certainly be dealing with sums of money running into the millions, even billions.
You are likely to begin your career investing cash, dealing with foreign exchange or developing financial models. Qualified treasurers with experience can expect to earn a six-figure salary, with additional higher earning opportunities. You'll be one of the top earners in finance. It is a demanding but extremely rewarding career.
