A unitary authority in the south of Bedfordshire, Luton is compact and rich in cultural diversity. A vibrant town with the largest one-day carnival in Europe, Luton has good road and rail links, with London half an hour away by train, the M1 running through the town and the A1(M) close by. Luton's international airport offers cheap flights to a range of destinations in and beyond Europe. And the verdant countryside of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire starts just a few minutes from the town centre. The town is embarking on an exciting period of change, with new school buildings and substantial investment in redeveloping the town centre.

What can we offer an NQT?

We are justly proud of our strong support through our CPD programme during your induction year. Standards are rising in Luton's schools across all the Key Stages and teachers are supported by family workers and learning mentors. Schools work in effective cluster groups offering opportunities to network across schools. There's a financial side, with our discount schemes including First Capital Connect and Vauxhall cars, restaurants and leisure facilities, relocation package and Key Worker Housing.

We also make finding a job easy: fill in our application form and we will circulate it to schools for you. With our primary pool you have just one interview to go through in order to secure a post in any of up to 50 schools.
