Financial services graduate programmes
We’re interested in you. As well as what you can do.
Hello.
We’re the UK’s largest insurer and the fifth largest in the world. And, as we own RAC, we’re also big in roadside assistance. But it’s not just our numerous award-winning products that have got us to where we are.
Yes, our pensions, long-term savings, insurance policies and fund management services give our customers (all 50 million of them) prosperity and peace of mind. However, we firmly believe that we’re successful because we’re down-to-earth people (as well as because we’re brilliant at what we do).
We’re not your typical, stuffy financial services types, either. Our business is important of course – many of our customers’ lives and livelihoods depend on it. But we enjoy working together. And we’ll be keen to get to know you, the person, too. So expect all the personal, as well as the professional, help and support you need to make the most of your potential.
In all honesty, we get a real kick out of seeing our graduates progress and take on more responsibility. Almost as much as they do.
A great place to learn.
Considering our position in the market, you won’t be surprised to hear that we deal with some pretty big numbers. Our income and investment sales netted us £51.4bn last year. And we held £381bn under management.
That we achieved so much in such a volatile climate says a lot for our finance teams. They’ve a wealth of knowledge to pass on. The size (and nature) of our business also means there’s a myriad of opportunities for you to move into: from the actuarial, to the operational, to the strategic. Between the training we offer and the challenges in store, there’s an awful lot for anyone with a financial leaning to look forward to.
There are other benefits, too.
While we like to think the working environment here is pretty rewarding, we also offer a very attractive graduate package.
You’ll get 29 days’ leave and enjoy discounts on many of our products – from travel insurance to motor breakdown cover. You’ll also be able to tweak your benefits to fit your lifestyle, for example when you buy a property, have a child or look towards retirement.
We’re also increasingly focusing on natural gifts – beyond your ability to balance some books, meet compliance procedures or pass your professional exams. As you develop, we’ll assess your strengths and help you find roles that make the most of them; career moves that could propel you into leadership roles, niche positions – maybe even abroad.
