Psychometric tests

Seeing the word test brings fear to many. Memories flood back of school exams and driving tests. Your immediate reaction may be 'why should I have to take a test to prove that I would be good at the job?' Surely your application form tells your potential employer all they need to know about your qualifications, experience and abilities? But the reality is that more and more organisations (especially the larger ones) are using psychometric tests to help them recruit people.

Psychometric tests

They're not tests at all, even though they consist of a large number of questions that demand answers. Psychometric tests (also known as aptitude tests) can provide employers with the sort of information about you that they can't easily get from the rest of the assessment centre.
