LiverpoolLiverpool is well known as the home of the Beatles and its position as Europe’s Capital of Culture in 2008 further boosted the city’s tourism industry, which is maintained by Liverpool’s transport links with Ireland and the rest of the UK. As a result, tourism forms a large part of the city’s economy, as do retail and leisure.

The majority of graduate opportunities in Liverpool are in the finance and business sectors. Graduate recruitment schemes are run by a number of local enterprises, such as chartered accountants Dufton Kellner and legal firm Bermans. There may also be job opportunities spanning various sectors at the University of Liverpool.

Postgraduate study in and around Liverpool

The University of Liverpool is the third best place in the UK to pursue postgraduate study in architecture. It is in the top ten for a variety of subjects including archaeology, European studies, and infection and immunology.

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is fourth in the UK for sports-related studies and its nursing and midwifery and accounting and finance courses are highly regarded.

Liverpool Hope University caters to more creative types, covering specialisms such as music, art history and theatre studies.
