The medieval city of Norwich was originally a centre for industrialisation in the 19th century but now boasts modern architecture and a number of beautiful parks and gardens.
Norwich is dominated by the financial services sector. Many well-known insurance and finance companies, including Aviva, have regional and national headquarters in the city and run highly regarded graduate programmes.
The media industry is another major graduate destination in Norwich, with Archant and ITV Anglia offering graduate schemes and traineeships in both journalism and television. The public sector too is a popular choice: Norwich City Council alone employs almost a third of people working in Norfolk.
The University of East Anglia (UEA) scores highly for its postgraduate courses in pharmacy, archaeology and history, while environmental sciences have received a 5* rating for research. Student satisfaction surveys have also ranked UEA in the top ten for subjects such as maths, biology, economics and law.
Norwich University College of the Arts offers a range of postgraduate-level study options in art, design and media for those with creative or artistic leanings.
