Famous for Robin Hood, Victorian lace, travelling fairs and more, Nottingham is an ideal destination for those who like to escape back to nature, whether their preference be historic Sherwood Forest or the rolling hills of the nearby Peak District.
With its renowned music, art and theatrical scenes and lively nightlife, Nottingham offers a wealth of entertainment options for all tastes and budgets.
Although it has long been an industrial city, the service and tourism sectors are now significant elements of Nottingham’s economy. The city hosts the headquarters of several multinational graduate employers such as Speedo, Siemens and Capital One.
The city is home to the University of Nottingham, whose medical school forms a part of the Queen’s Medical Centre – the UK’s first purpose built teaching hospital. Currently ranked 14th in the UK, many of the university’s departments are ranked as ‘excellent’, including chemistry, English, economics and law.
Nottingham Trent University boasts a highly regarded teacher-training course as well as internationally respected courses in hospitality, leisure and sport science. Its graduates are among the most employable in the UK.
