Network Rail is creating more than 300 skilled engineering jobs in the next year. The new recruits will work on infrastructure projects such as the Thameslink, Crossrail and Reading schemes.
The roles available will include project engineer and specialist positions. Around half will be based in London and the south east and other jobs will be based across the country in Swindon, Manchester, Birmingham and York. There will be opportunities across a range of specialisms, including civil and electrical engineering, signalling and general project management.
Iain Coucher, the chief executive of Network Rail, said he hoped that both talented men and women would apply. ‘We want the best to work for us – both men and women – and I hope that as we continue to show our modern business and the opportunities that we offer we can attract exceptional women to apply for these roles and be part of something fantastic.’
