Delivering Procurement Services for Aid (DPSA) is a service for procuring goods and equipment to support aid and humanitarian organisations in the delivery of aid programmes worldwide. We have a number of opportunities in London for graduates with a background in a business, management or international development related fields, to help provide procurement services to our clients around the world. Based in London, Dubai and a number of international locations, the DPSA team is a truly international part of ACEOM. You will have the chance to be involved in all stages of a project; from initial project definition and brief, cost planning, through to procurement, and delivery. You will have opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients including some very high profile names, working alongside our dedicated, multidisciplinary teams. We believe that actually doing the work itself gives the best opportunity to learn, so you can expect to be given responsibility, and will need to be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, all whilst receiving the guidance and support to allow you to develop.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The DPSA role we offer can be varied and is dependent on the client, sector and project we are working for. The role is split into support for 5 business areas, which can include:

Delivery:

  • Customer relationship building and retention
  • Project management the procurement process
  • Forecasting and reporting – the audit trail
  • Demand management, marketing, promotion and business development

Growth & Partnerships:

  • Business development 
  • Client Account Management
  • Attending client events and gaining new business

Bid and proposal coordination and support Commercial:

  • Supplier due diligence
  • Support for bid preparation
  • Development of training materials

Commercial team administration Marketing and Communications:

  • Event planning
  • Development of branded materials
  • Market research

Communications campaigns Business Operations:

  • Project and financial management
  • Human resource management
  • Audit and reporting
  • Team administration

A DPSA Graduate at AECOM could have the opportunity to assist in all of the above tasks, and see projects from inception to completion on site. We anticipate that all DPSA Graduates will spend time working in each of the 5 business areas on a rotational basis, and that some rotations may include placements in Dubai or another international location. 

REQUIREMENTS 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (min 2:2 or equivalent) in a business, management or international development related field Skills
  • Effective decision making and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and driven approach to work and creating success
  • Ability to work in an international team of diverse individuals to meet common objectives
  • Good time management skills to achieve deadlines set by clients and managers
  • Good organisation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and willingness to ask for help when needed, as well as to provide support other members of the team

The GDP is held over a 5 separate residential training sessions and involves training, lectures and group work with other graduates, as well as constant guidance throughout professional accreditation processes. We have over 1,000 graduates on our programmes across the UK & Europe, from over 30 different disciplines, each and every one of them making a tangible difference to the environment we all live & work in. We will provide you with all the tools and support you need to achieve your professional development ambitions, including chartership with the relevant international professional institution – where we have graduates working towards over 30 professional institutions in the UK. We demand the highest standards and expect our graduates to pass their professional review first time. You will be assigned a mentor to support & guide your development, and undertake regular training modules throughout the programme. There will be on-the-job and classroom training where required, and the opportunity to work on live client projects, with significant multi-disciplinary exposure.
