Our UK Graduate Programmes provide exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the 2/3 year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.
From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programmes conclusion.
The Centre of Competence Systems (CoC) is part of the Engineering organisation. Its main mission is to design, develop, integrate and ensure the continued airworthiness of the aircraft systems.
Within the UK, Systems Engineering consists of the following areas:
Fuel and Inerting Domain - Recognised worldwide as a technical leader in commercial fuel systems, with key involvement in all major Airbus aircraft programmes:
- Responsible for the architecture, design, simulation, aircraft integration, certification and in-service support of all aspects of Fuel and Inerting Systems.
Avionics Platforms - Recognised within Airbus to propose and implement optimised platform architecture for all avionics systems:
- Responsible for studying new technology of sensors and to explore new distributed architecture concepts targeting the optimal integration of systems (mainly Fuel and LG systems) on the aircraft.
Safety and Reliability - Improve and maintain the safety and reliability of products across Landing Gear and Fuel:
- Responsible for assessing safety and reliability issues and help identify potential solutions, communicating with other engineers to find the optimal balance between reliability and performance, whilst maintaining product safety.
This role will be based in Bristol, Filton (must be flexible) and will receive the full Airbus UK Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000.00 - plus a welcome payment of £2,000.00
Our new graduates have the opportunity to develop their skills and grow as Engineers. We are keen to have new graduates who want to develop their full potential, both as technical specialists and as engineering leaders by taking on challenging roles. There are plenty of opportunities, whether it is in the design of new system architectures; working with suppliers to develop new equipment; resolving in-service problems; working in cutting-edge research ideas or working with colleagues in other parts of Airbus to define the best aircraft level solution. Tasks can include, but are not limited to, fuel tank modelling and simulation; fuel measurement, management and interfaces; ground and flight transfer of fuel; fuel jettison; fuel tank inerting; system safety analysis; failure modes and effects analysis; functional safety analysis, zonal safety analysis, risk assessment; electromagnetic hazard protection; integrated modular avionics integration; cockpit interfaces and built in test/health monitoring.
The areas involve the development of complex architectures including the related computer control systems and fluid systems.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to degree level (2:1 or above) or equivalent within one of the following disciplines;
- Avionic Systems Engineering - Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering - Systems Engineering - Mechanical Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Thermal Engineering
- Computer Science
- Applied Maths and/or Physics with a relevant MSc
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as part of a team
- An Engineering Internship or Aerospace-based projects during academic studies would be desirable
