Manufacturing Engineering Internship - Methods and Processes
Methods and process engineers work on new technologies and processes to enable the manufacturing of aircraft wings to run more efficiently, safely, and with fewer defects. The range of projects undertaken is very varied ranging from manufacturing of elementary parts to installation of full turn-key production systems.
The overall team is 43 engineers in size with experience ranging from one year to 20 years+
Any successful applicant will work alongside a fully trained engineer who will ensure they receive the most out of their experience working within the team.
The successful applicant will be working alongside other engineers within teams assigned to recurring improvement projects, delivering real benefit into the Airbus operations team, usually within tight timescales. The work may mean interacting with both UK and transnational team members, also interacting with other support functions within the plant such as quality, design, health and safety and logistics. Suitable applicants should demonstrate the ability to work well within a group, working alongside other mechanical and aeronautical engineers on site projects. They should be innovative and want to understand why things work the way they do, challenging the status quo. The ability to present to their peers is useful and certainly to be able to communicate well and efficiently within the team is a real advantage.
You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement studying towards an Engineering degree (Preferably Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical).

- Industrial experience would be beneficial but is not essential
Any experience working with Composite material, sealants/compounds, robotics, automation and drilling techniques would be advantageous however is not essential as this will form part of your Internship with the Methods and Process team.
