Description of the job
Our UK Graduate Programmes provide exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the 2/3 year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.
From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programmes conclusion.
The Fuel and Landing Gear test teams support the development and certification test activities performed for the Fuel and Landing Gear systems in all Airbus Aircraft programs.
Tests scope covers: Avionics systems: verification of system computers and main electronic equipment integration on avionic rigs (computer robustness, software response, network, communication, data buses). Fluid mechanics, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical aspects of these systems: verification of fluid mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and related mechanical equipment on Fuel and Landing Gear test rigs (system performance under various conditions, equipment robustness, certification tests).
This role will be based in Bristol, Filton (must be flexible) and will receive the full Airbus UK Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000.00 - plus a welcome payment of £2,000.00
The main activities performed by the various groups are:
Laboratory test means support, which includes:
- Test Means development and commissioning for new test rigs
- Maintenance and evolution of current test rigs
Functional integration tests on lab test means:
- Identification of test mean needs
- est procedure preparation and execution on various Airbus rigs available in Filton, Toulouse or Hamburg
- Support of system tests performed at supplier facilities
Support to Flight tests:
- Flight test Instrumentation specification, installation and validation
- Flight tests monitoring in real time using the telemetry station in Filton or Toulouse
- Flight test data analysis to provide the design and flight test teams with the test results
- Support to ground tests performed on Airbus flight test aircraft fleet
The department strategy fully supports the Integration and Flight Test centre's vision to develop a 'single test team' identity covering all tests from supplier to Flight Test.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
Educated to degree level (2:1 or above) or equivalent within one of the following disciplines;
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics / Systems Engineering
- Computer Science
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as part of a team
An Engineering Internship, Aerospace-based projects with coding/computer programming during academic studies would be desirable.
