Airbus Defence and Space are offering the opportunity for a UK Engineering graduates to join their multinational company within the South Wales and Hertfordshire areas. They are seeking an enthusiastic future engineer interested in starting a career in the Network/Communications/IT arena to join their Secure Communications business line. Secure Communications is a global leader in fixed and mobile secure communications for Governments and UK MOD. The successful candidate will be expected to travel within the UK and Europe as part of the graduate scheme to broaden their experience.
The Network Engineering Team has subject matter experts in all aspects of networking including architecture, design and development, implementation, test and support in order to deliver services to our customers. We use industry best practice in addition to innovative approaches for systems engineering.
A rotation approach between departments is used to ensure broad experience across these disciplines to maximize the opportunities to learn and progress providing experience across the network engineering lifecycle.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for performing and documenting network design tasks as a Graduate Network Design Engineer. This includes the engineering life cycle from concept to delivery within the overall project and then designing and rollout and installing designs.
You will gain an appreciation of the range of technical activities within the company and develop and insight to where the future lies.
The main activities of this role will include;
- To be a member of a multi-disciplined team and contribute to system design
- Develop an understanding of architectural principles to deliver network solutions
- Gain an understanding on how complex network designs are baselined and implemented
- Engineering best practice to design and deliver a system
- Assist with the development of new products through the R&D program
As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following;
- At a minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT or related subject
- Understanding of cloud technologies
- Awareness of virtualised and software defined networks
- An industry recognised technical qualification such as MCSE or CCNA an advantage
- A thorough understanding of networking functionality and protocols.
This role will be based in Newport or Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
