"Most people in the office are really friendly and more than happy to help you with any problems you are having. There is also a variety of sports teams you can sign up to. There are a lot of young people in the office and there is a great social scene after hours."

"I do love the culture at Alfa as cooperation is strongly encouraged. As a junior employee you are encouraged to talk to anyone in the company that may help you. Senior colleagues are usually happy to meet you and give some of their time to help you out. We have a great cafeteria in the London office where you can get nice coffee made by our baristas, snacks, fresh fruit and, more importantly, the chance to have a break and chat with colleagues. A lot of people (especially the younger bunch) take Friday drinks really seriously. Every year the company organises three quarterly company meetings with fun activities (climbing, cycling, go-carting, hiking etc) and an overnight company conference with even more going on. This year the company conference will be in Barcelona while past locations have included Greece, Miami and Dubai."

"By far the best part of Alfa is its people and culture. We have a lot of freedom to create groups and sports teams. Regular company fun days and activities are organised and they're a great way to meet people in other teams and roles. This year we have been to the Olympic Park velodrome, to a mini golf and cocktail bar and to St George's Park, the home of the England football team. We are all looking forward to our company-wide hackathon and to the company meeting that will take place in Barcelona! We also have regular events that your partner and family can attend, including black-tie dinners and family fun days."

"The culture is very good. Quarterly company meetings and social activities throughout the year maintain the culture. A hierarchy exists but it doesn't impede communication with senior staff members socially or in work."

"The culture of Alfa is what made the company stand out to me during my application process. The people working here are outstandingly friendly, helpful, genuinely kind and interested in the collaborative nature of the job. The after-hours culture is also very versatile and vibrant, with work drinks every Friday evening as well as interest or sport-related group activities. The hierarchy feels very flat and even the most experienced staff are always happy to help out and share their knowledge."

"Socialising is great as there are weekly work drinks that are well attended. The good thing about Alfa is the fact that you can ask anyone for help with a problem you are having and they will always help if they can."

"The work/life balance is great, the people are friendly and the support is good."

"The company is very keen to make sure the employees have a life outside of work. Everybody is very friendly and, although we work very hard during the day, there is a relaxed environment. We have frequent drinks evenings and events so that we can get to know our colleagues in a less formal environment. On top of this there are quarterly meetings that include fun events and a yearly conference that is often somewhere exotic! The structure of the organisation is evolving as the company grows but it is constantly being evaluated on a monthly basis to make sure work is being done as efficiently as possible and employees are happy with where they are and what they are doing. The majority of people (especially as graduates) work in teams of about six or seven and these teams often go for lunch together and become quite close socially."

"I work in a fun and lively office and there has been a boost in hiring recently. There's a great coffee shop and communal area with regular events put on by the firm but with no obligation to attend."

"There is a cooperative culture at the firm, and knowledge and experience are both shared well, as everyone is very approachable. We socialise regularly at either company-organised events or casually. I have made some great friends at work."

"I think that Alfa has a fantastic working culture, and puts great importance on a good work/life balance. There are a number of social events throughout the year, as well as numerous sports clubs, and of course Friday drinks every week!"

"There is a friendly, social and cooperative culture here."

"The firm has an open plan desk space arrangement: graduates sit with directors, which results in a friendly atmosphere. In addition, there is a fun culture outside of work hours."
Consultant, London
"In my opinion the culture is up there with the best, and I think this is something that Alfa has historically worked hard at. There is lots of socialising in and outside of work, and generally an easy-going atmosphere."
Junior Consultant, London
"Here at Alfa I have found that everybody is very friendly, and willing to help. I was made to feel comfortable very soon. Since it is a rather small company you end up knowing everybody, so the fact that everybody is friendly and approachable is very important."

"I think that everyone is very friendly, and there are lots of outside of work activities/clubs, plus frequent drinks."

"From my experience the firm ensures that its staff maintain a good work/life balance while working sufficient working hours. There is a good after work social scene, and plenty of clubs and sports teams. I feel that the firm has good teamwork, and that it's easy to talk to anybody at any level."

"The culture is excellent, the people are very friendly and there are regularly company social events as well as informal drinks after work. People are always happy to give their time to help others."

"The company structure is fairly flat, and you will be treated quite equally regardless of your official grade within the company. We have quarterly off-site company meetings where the whole company gets together to find out what's happening in the company and usually there is a fun activity to go along with this. Aside from this, there's a multitude of sports teams and regular informal after-work drinks."

"It can seem a little quiet and professional in the office, but I see the need for that environment to be productive. The social side is excellent, the people are very friendly and there are lots of social gatherings the company does. In work environments, people are very happy to work and collaboration is encouraged. It's a very open environment with good communication."
Graduate, London
"The company structure is very flat, making it easy to get to know everyone fairly quickly. We have a good time together, so teamwork and cooperation are always easy."
Entry level, London
"The structure of the company is very simple - most people have progressed up the same way starting from a junior consultant - to a consultant, senior consultant, manager. Progression is based on merit as opposed to 'if positions open up' in the chain. Cooperation and teamwork is good in the company - we have effective short stand ups in the morning, so managers can identify problems and help. We have retrospectives at the end of each timebox to identify things that went badly during a timebox, and learn from them to improve the next timebox. I really enjoy the social aspect of the company - everyone is friendly, and there's a lunch event on Friday, and Friday after-work drinks. Team lunches and breakfasts are organised too."

"I'd say the company culture is the most distinct thing about Alfa. Being sociable and fun is pretty much a pre-requisite for joining the company and we genuinely do all get on really well, going for drinks together regularly, etc. This is something that comes from the top of the company, so we have a lot of organised company events and parties."
Midlevel, London
"Alfa is unrivalled in terms of culture. We have a friendly culture in the office and a friendly culture out the office. There are lots of company events."

"Employees at all levels are happy to help others learn and improve as consultants, and to impart technical and functional knowledge as required. After-work social events are regular and usually well-attended."
Midlevel, London
"Hard working culture during working hours. Relaxed and enjoyable after hours. Employees can sign up to numerous after work societies to socialise with others enjoying the same activities."
Entry level, London
"Office hours are sociable: 9:00am to 6:00pm everyday. The need to work late is occasional and not expected. There is a flat company structure, so you can ask anyone on any level for help. Great team of people and we all work well as a team, and help each other. Lots of opportunities to socialise - sports teams, after-work drinks, quarterly company meetings and an annual conference."
Graduate, London
"Teamwork is very good, and management hierarchy is loosely observed - there is no issue speaking to superiors."
Graduate, London
"Great social side but also very professional in the office. I feel I am very lucky to work with people who I enjoy being around and have fantastic rapport with. We have a flat structure so you can often find yourself having a friendly chat with a director in the kitchen or sharing a joke with a senior manager. We also have regular company meetings in which we can catch up with colleagues who have been working abroad for a while or on a different client site. This helps to further create a sense of community within the company."
Entry level, London
"The office atmosphere is friendly and relatively relaxed, I find everyone is intelligent, personable and helpful, and the company has lots of organised events where we get to know each other well over drinks, activities, etc. We regularly arrange drinks among ourselves as well, as we get on well."
Graduate, London
"The overall culture is very friendly and teamwork orientated, during office hours you are encouraged to ask if there is anything you don't understand or need help on, and everyone is always very willing to help each other. The regular company meetings and annual conferences (a four-day long weekend away, on a sunny beach usually) are great opportunities to catch up with people in the rest of the company outside of your project team. There is a variety of company sport teams and the weekly after-work Friday drinks also offer a chance to socialise outside of work. Of course you can do as little or as much as you want!"
