Online Production Assistant - Topshop Topman (Immediate Start)


This is a role for those with an understanding of web technologies not to be confused with film production!

You will be responsible for managing the site specific content and email production through the in-house content management system across UK and International Topshop and Topman sites. As part of a team of Production Assistants you will test and QA all site content daily and work with the Systems team to develop new functionality and design site-wide. Therefore an understanding of HTML and exposure to content management systems (CMS) are ideal, as well as having an understanding of the customers online journey.

As an Online Production Assistant at Topshop Topman you will report to the Online Production Manager and work closely with the CRM and Acquisitions teams, the Online Creative department, and the wider offline Marketing team.


If it's online, it's on your mind. You’ll need the following skills before hitting apply:

  • Understanding of web technologies including mobile web, native apps and video
  • A keen interest in mobile and device development
  • Basic Photoshop skills and understanding of image compression and optimization for web
  • Experience with CMS
  • Highly organized and exceptional time management skills
  • You can independently manage your workflow and prioritize tasks in order to meet competing and changing deadlines
  • Can confidently communicate with internal and external teams
  • Ability to proactively think around obstacles, using initiative to identify and propose solutions
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with an excellent eye for detail and accuracy

And the following would really desirable but not essential:

  • Basic understanding of CSS and HTML
  • French or German language skills would be useful
  • Experience working within a fast-paced ecommerce team, ideally in a fashion environment

What you’ll be doing day to day

Liaising with Editorial, Design and Production teams to produce and publish daily and weekly content across desktop, mobile and apps

  • Test all uploads on the test platforms prior to publishing deadlines to ensure the accuracy of all site content
  • Ensure that all Editorial assets are correctly optimised before production, to keep designed content at optimum level
  • Assist in the production, testing and deployment of emails
  • Communicate requirements to the Systems team ensuring actions and bug fixes are completed
  • Testing of new functionality & all content changes to the site
  • Assist in the development of technical requirements
  • Manage and / test website bugs using an online ticketing system
  • Support the delivery of small scale web builds / development projects
