Our environmental practice in the UK comprises over 250 staff and we are presently working on some of the largest civil engineering infrastructure, urban regeneration and transport projects in the UK. We cover a number of sub-disciplines including Environmental Impact Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment, ecology, landscape architecture, air quality, cultural heritage, acoustics, hydrology, transport planning, sustainability and geosciences.
Graduate Development Programme
We have a two year development programme for our Graduates, during which time many work towards various accreditation routes which you will be fully supported with. Our Graduate programmes have helped over 300 people through their accreditation exams since 2011.

Reporting to the Cultural Heritage Team Leader, you will be required to work on a range of projects including EIA projects and NSIPs. You will assist other members of the Cultural Heritage team in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations. You will work as part of a wider project team completing tasks such as carrying out site visits and conducting research at Historic Environment Records, archives and record offices, processing and managing heritage data in ArcGIS, assisting with the delivery of technical reports including Desk-based Assessments, Heritage Statements and inputs to EIAs and providing support on the production of bids. You will also be given the opportunity to liaise with key heritage stakeholders including Historic England and Local Planning Authority Archaeologists and Conservation Officers.
You will work in collaboration with other disciplines and acquire the knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job learning to further your Cultural Heritage knowledge and understand the interaction between Cultural Heritage and other Environment disciplines. Similarly, there will be opportunities for you to work on a wide variety of schemes and innovative, technically challenging work.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree in Archaeology or a related subject.
- Effective team worker
- Flexible attitude to work
- Full driving licence
- Experience of working in the heritage sector and/or archaeological fieldwork
- Basic knowledge of the Historic Environment and appropriate fieldwork skills
- Knowledge and experience of GIS
- Experience of consultancy through under-graduate placements or post-graduation work/work experience
- Experience of Heritage planning and/ contribution to archaeological academic fieldwork
- Emerging understanding of the purpose of attending meetings with clients and others
- Emerging understanding of how to provide advice to clients
- Emerging understanding of inputting into bids
- First Aider
- CSCS card holder
