Types of work
Our three divisions - corporate & commercial, real estate and infrastructure, and private client - cover a wide range of practice areas, including corporate, commercial property, dispute resolution, projects, employment, intellectual property, trusts and estates, residential property and equity release. We advise clients across a number of industries with a focus on technology, energy & waste, retail and the public sector. We service clients internationally through our ADVOC network of independent law firms, and work on a number of cross border transactions.

You will experience four areas of law during your training contract, spending six months getting to grips with each department. You have a choice of either a Bristol-based or a South West based training contract. Our South West trainees have the opportunity to work across our Exeter, Taunton and Plymouth offices. We also offer flexibility to trainees to complete a seat in our London office if the opportunity arises. To make sure that everything is on-track you will meet with your supervisor during each seat to review your development. We will support you through your PSC training, as well as providing a variety of client focused courses through the Ashfords Academy, to underpin your on-the-job training. Our trainees play an integral role in business development and marketing, they are involved in a variety of events giving exposure to our diverse client base for networking.

The Assessment Centres consist of three main elements: a group exercise, an individual exercise and a formal interview.
