"During induction week, we receive a lot of general training. Throughout the seat, you receive a lot department-specific training. The department has a lot of practice briefing notes consisting of department and industry know-how."

"Currently includes professional skills, such as advocacy and business skills. The former particularly helped with communication skills. Other departmental training is available, which is not always relevant to your role at the time but good as background knowledge. Training can sometimes be given too late to help with completion of tasks."
First year trainee, London
"Great exposure to different areas of the firm. The finance seat and transactional seat are compulsory. You have the option to do a dispute resolution course as contentious experience instead of a dispute resolution seat."
Second year trainee, London
"Extensive and well organised training, whether department-specific or firm-wide."
First year trainee, London
"Trainee training is good and they have recently added a pro bono training programme for new joiners, which looks really interesting. Otherwise, the training programme seems to reflect solicitors regulation authority requirements: drafting, negotiation, client care, business presenting etc. Each department has its own training sessions to which trainees are invited, which helps you keep on top of developments."
Second year trainee, London
"I have participated in general induction training and more specific training honing in on my department and trainee role. All have been extremely useful and the trainers very approachable."
First year trainee, London
"Regular training and talks during law school. Two weeks of training before starting in our first seats. We went into our departments feeling prepared and ready to start properly."

"Relevant legal skills are developed in each seat rotation, and training sessions accompany each seat move - both seat-specific and general (such as communication and drafting skills)."
First year trainee, London
"All trainees sit the LPC and Professional Skills Course modules together. The other training elements that are undertaken during the training contract are all run on-site at the offices, meaning that they are easy to attend without disrupting your work."
First year trainee, London
"In the first two weeks of each seat there are six or seven training sessions specific to the department. On top of that, there are several booster IT and soft skill sessions."
First year trainee, London
"It is an extremely thorough training programme that covers IT, financial skills and more specified departmental training."
First year trainee, London
"There is induction departmental training in the first two weeks and regular internal team meetings with regulatory updates. Technical areas like SDG have regular departmental training on core skills (designed for NQs and Juniors) that are actively designed and led by the Professional Development Lawyers, a senior associate and a junior associate."

"Very hot on training programmes - peppered throughout the year and very heavy at start of seat."

"A very intense first two weeks - IT training, Advocacy, Financial and Business Skills - followed by regular training sessions specific to your department."

"Plenty of it and a team of people working on it full-time to make sure it is good quality and at the right level."

"A full induction programme at the start of the contract covering IT and presentations on different departments in the firm. Then a tailor made legal induction in your department with lots of presentations."
