"Since I joined, the intake has reduced and the interview process has become more stringent."

"I had one interview with graduate recruitment and one with two partners. They have now introduced testing to accompany the interview."

"Back when I got my training contract, (over six years ago), it was one of the easiest application processes around, with a friendly CV plus questions application and a partner interview. From what I gather they've upped the difficulty. There were no 'trick' interview questions then, just straight talking getting-to-understand-you questions, but I can't guarantee that there won't be now."

"Difficult interviews for those who did not do a vacation scheme here. Very much a good cop/bad cop way of conducting the interview - for me, the bad cop was particularly vicious. Lots of focus on how the credit crunch occurred and putting it into layman's terms. I was also asked to "Sell us the pencil that is on the table in front of you"."

"When I applied a few years ago, I did a vacation scheme, submitted a CV and a cover letter and got the job. The vacation scheme itself acted as the interview. The process has changed now but there are still fewer (often unnecessary) hoops to jump through than there are at other firms."
Second year trainee, Dubai
"It's extremely competitive but the process is straightforward - no assessment centres or trick questions and a simple application form."
