Babcock International Group

Cavendish Nuclear – Business Operations Management

What you’ll be doing

Cavendish Nuclear is the UK’s leading nuclear services company, with ambitious plans for growth at home and abroad. We’re a wholly-owned subsidiary of Babcock International Group, delivering complex projects across the nuclear lifecycle. Our work includes supporting the delivery of new build nuclear power plants, extending the working-life of existing nuclear plants and safely decommissioning legacy sites. Whether on our own or with one of our partners, we apply proven experience and trusted expertise to deliver complex programmes safer, faster, at lower cost.

Based out of Warrington near Manchester, we offer 12-week Business Operations Management summer internships to candidates that can demonstrate a confident and outgoing personality. You’ll be ready to take on challenges, question the norm and communicate with people at all levels.

This is the chance to experience our dynamic commercial, trade controls, bidding and business development functions. You can expect to get involved with a diverse range of bids (which are worth from £10k to £100m+) across our business. We’ll teach you how to analyse our competitors, assist in business capture and governance functions, and master commercial and contract management.

What you’ll get out of it

To ensure you get the most out of the experience, you’ll be assigned a buddy, mentor and graduate manager. You’ll also have regular performance reviews and attend sessions to help you develop key skills such as Communicating for Impact and Career Management.

There will be plenty of opportunity to visit our other sites and meet placement students from across the company at the Cavendish Nuclear Discover and Develop Sessions. During your time with us, you’ll meet a range of people, from graduates to directors, who will share their experiences and expand your industry knowledge. If you have a successful summer with us, you’ll be fast-tracked through the graduate assessment process.

What you’ll need

To be eligible for this internship, you must be a penultimate year student due to graduate in 2020, studying a business related degree or similar. Successful candidates will also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements.
