Graduate Development Framework (GDF) - Business
Graduate Development Framework (GDF): Business
The GDF is our two-year scheme that develops people who are passionate about, and show great potential in, their chosen field of business or engineering. Each year we take in approximately 170 graduates.
By combining formal learning with real challenges across a number of placements, the GDF will give you a solid foundation for a successful career within one of our UK businesses
We’re continually on the lookout for people who can add real value to our business in each of the following areas:
In Business Development, you’ll work on fully integrated marketing campaigns, highlighting the strengths and successes of our products and services to a wide audience to ensure the future success of our global business.
You can play a key role in Commercial by estimating, bidding for, negotiating and managing contracts to win and deliver profitable business and meet customer expectations.
Human Resources (HR)
As part of HR, you’ll add value by ensuring we have the right people in the right place at the right time, and that those people are capable of achieving our business goals. As part of our HR GDF you will have placements across different business units, sites and Centres of Expertise, therefore you will need to be geographically mobile.
Information Management & Technology (IM&T)
Within IM&T, you’ll help define, design, develop and deliver IT solutions to ensure we advance technologically, both internally and externally.
In Procurement/Supply Chain, you’ll be involved in influencing, establishing and managing end-to-end supplier relationships to maximise business value.
Working in Project Management, you’ll be given responsibility and accountability for delivering customer commitments at the right time and at the right cost.
Your career development
We recognise that development is key to you fulfilling your professional potential and us delivering our business commitments. That’s why we’ve created a scheme where you take ownership of your career aspirations and we give you support, training and practical experience to help you succeed.
First things first: your career with us starts with an induction to welcome you to your chosen UK business. Here, you’ll meet fellow graduates and find out more about what your future holds. Then, shortly after joining, you’ll be assigned a mentor who can act as a source of advice and insight when you need it.
You’ll also participate in ‘Graduate Developing You’, a series of development modules delivered by an Impact International award winning learning and development provider. The course brings our graduates together from across the different businesses and aims to help you better understand yourself and others to drive performance.
During the GDF you’ll also attend our UK Graduate Conference, which brings together graduates from across the globe to network, engage with a diverse range of managers and learn more about the inspiring work we do. There is also the opportunity to celebrate success through the Graduate Awards ceremony which takes place at the gala dinner.
All of this is designed to complement your placements, fuel your ambition, and give depth to your training and career.
