Software Engineering (Gloucester, Guildford, London)

This makes up a quarter of our workforce and is focused on building software; our engineers work on a huge spectrum of technologies and programming languages from Java to GoLang. Our most common specialisation is with information processing systems for intelligence analysis.

Who are we looking for?  We are looking for people who have a passion for coding, whether that be through university or self-taught and those who have the aptitude to pick up technical detail and apply logic. If you love writing code, we want to hear from you!

Operational Cyber (Gloucester, London, Guildford)

We are looking for talented developers and researchers who can solve our customers’ hardest problems. Trust us, these are not the kind of problems you'll get at a hedge fund, a Shoreditch start-up or even a Silicon Valley tech company. Our customers and the things they want to do are pretty unique. We work across a range of platforms including desktop, mobile and embedded systems and a range of languages including Python, C#, Java and C++.

Who are we looking for? We want people who love to learn new languages, systems and tools. If you have been busy building your own software, making your Raspberry Pi do something cool, or figuring out how someone else’s software works, this is a great area for you.

Physical Scienve and Technology (Chelmsford, Guildford and Gloucester)

Graduates in this practice work on a wide range of challenging problems and developing innovative mission critical technology and products for our customers. Applications include high performance networking, space systems, software radios and underwater systems. Graduates are given the opportunity to develop a breadth of skills. You might be designing RF/digital electronics or developing software/firmware targeted at a wide range of devices (eg FPGAs, ARM processors, GPUs, microcontrollers). You could be involved in designing signal processing algorithms or researching new and exciting areas of science and technology.

Who are we looking for? We have more engineering focused roles which suit people who are enthusiasts for technology, enjoy making things and understanding how they work. Some experience of practical electronics / embedded software / hobby projects would be advantageous. We also have more applied  science focused roles where we are looking for people with a strong academic science background, mainly in physics chemistry or mathematics.  Disciplines of particular interest are electro-magnetics, optics, materials and metallurgy, applied mathematics.

Software Test (Guildford and London)

Test Engineering is the gatekeeper to the quality of our deliveries to our customers around the world.  Our systems support Governments and Customers around the World in helping them defend against cyber threats. The test engineer has the opportunity to work across the development lifecycle from requirements and designs to customer acceptance and can directly influence the outcome of our projects.

Who are we looking for? A keen interest in software engineering and cyber security with a particular passion for building software the right way. Good people skills and excellent communication is a must and experience (at university or self-taught) with programming / scripting would be desirable.

Application Support (Gloucester and Guildford)

This is the part of our engineering community that cares about live systems first and foremost. The people in this practice are passionate about fixing problems, maintaining live services, and are development-literate; usually employed to enhance as well as sustain critical capabilities across our Government and Commercial clients

Who are we looking for?  We are looking for those with an interest in software engineering, who want to solve problems and an interest in coding and IT systems is desirable, especially Linux operating systems.
