Business Operations Graduate Programme
Partnership defines us.
Baillie Gifford was established as an investment management partnership over 100 years ago. Today, with 900+ people based in Edinburgh, we are an independent global investment management business with over £100 billion under management.
We look to buy stakes in companies that have the potential to grow significantly over the long-term – and our track record has proved our ability to seek out and invest in businesses that change the way the world looks - like Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Tesla, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Alibaba and Ocado for example. In other words, we put a high value on innovative thinkers – and that’s as true of our colleagues just as much as the companies we work with.
Through each successive generation of partners, our focus on generating superior long-term investment results for our clients has been the bedrock of our own growth. It allows us to put our clients’ needs first, bringing stability and a long-term time frame to everything that we do, whether choosing the best investments for our clients’ portfolios or continually investing in the firm and our people.
The perfect way to learn what you’re good at.
Join this two-year rotational Business Operations programme and experience the full cycle of over a dozen operational teams which support our growing business.
We wouldn’t expect you to know right now which team you’ll join in two years’ time. That’s precisely why our rotational programme provides such exposure, and graduates are often surprised at the wide range of professional opportunity. Our programme is designed to allow you to work on real projects and develop new ideas in everything from Business Risk and Finance to Corporate Governance, Client Operations and much more.
And once you’ve built that foundation, launch your career here in a specialism that’s matched to your talents, interests and aspirations. Find your place in Baillie Gifford.
You might have studied business, or something else entirely. We’re looking for people who are fascinated by the way organisations work. In terms of your degree subject, we’re completely open-minded, although an interest in business is a must. We’re looking for people with a consultative and problem-solving approach, and a passion for learning.
