Baillie Gifford & Co

Interview Process

8.3 / 10

(based on 8 ratings in 2015)

"The interview process is relatively short compared to some other companies. I preferred having only three stages; CV submission, initial interview and assessment centre. I understand there were upwards of 500 applicants for the three positions in the year I applied. In that sense it is difficult to get hired, however other positions are advertised on a regular basis."

"There was a CV-based interview but no formal assessments involved. Personality, attitude and interests (whether investment-related or not) are generally emphasised over work experience."

"I had two interviews: a technical test and a lunch with my potential managers."

"Baillie Gifford is looking for a particular type of person for their investment management roles. This person is probably creative, is probably fascinated by a wide range of (often esoteric) subjects, and is certainly hard working, with an interest in business."
