Graduate Electrical Design Engineer

About the programme

Our Electrical Design Engineering graduates follow a training programme as part of our scheme to ultimately become a Charted Engineer. You will get the chance to work alongside some of the biggest utility providers for electricity transmission, power distribution and renewable energy within the UK. You’ll be involved in the whole project life cycle from selection and sourcing of products, negotiating with stakeholders, planning routes, creating layouts and methods for installing cable. We will also be looking to give you valuable site experience to enhance your understanding of our UK operations.

The Balfour Beatty Graduate scheme lasts for two years; you will follow a development programme that will equip you with the skills needed to become a business leader of the future. Throughout the two years, you’ll be supported by your line manager and have the opportunity to attend graduate-based events, where you will work with your peers, develop interpersonal skills and share best practice. You will join a graduate cohort and be assigned Business Improvement and Corporate Social Responsibility Projects that can affect the way we work as a business.

Electrical Design Engineer Graduate roles will be located in the North West of England, Yorkshire and Kent and will be a rotational role.
