13 Month Internship - Quality Management (July 2018)

Our production network consists of MINI Plant Oxford, MINI Plant Swindon and BMW Plant Hams Hall. Plant Oxford is one of the most modern and technically advanced car plants in the world and is the heart of MINI – while Plant Swindon is where MINI panels are pressed. BMW Plant Hams Hall manufactures small fuel efficient, low emission engines for BMW and MINI vehicles.

Each year we offer a number of internship opportunities and are keen to hear from you if you are currently studying an undergraduate degree and are on track for a 2:1 or 1st class final result.

Quality Management System (QMS)

We are currently seeking an intern to work within Quality Management System (QMS) at MINI Plant Oxford starting July 2018 for a period of 13 months.

Within QMS there are opportunities for process improvements and automation of tasks. This role looks at exploring these opportunities and developing systems and processes to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the quality management activities within the plant.

Key accountabilities 


  • Develop new instant communication mechanisms for quality information and feedback. 
  • Develop reporting and management tools for the Plant's QMS. 
  • Support the QMS team and help to develop its network with the other BMW plants. 
  • Take responsibility for tasks and projects as required to support the business requirements. 
  • The role will involve a wide range of skills ranging from developing technical reporting systems to ensuring that these systems are bought into and adopted by the departments that they are intended to support. Therefore the intern will additionally need to interact with and influence people from external departments. 

The intern should have the capacity to be creative during the development phase, however must be able to follow a logical and systematic approach.


We offer a competitive salary of £17,500 per annum and a range of benefits including a pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and a subsidised on-site restaurant. As an intern you will also have the opportunity to take part in the testing of new vehicles through one of our car schemes. Throughout your internship you will be supported by our experts in your chosen field, as well as being surrounded by many fellow interns.
